FAQ

What is IDENTILOCK™?

IDENTILOCK™ is a trigger lock that completely covers and prevents access to the trigger until activated by a fingerprint, allowing immediate access to firearm. For more information see our How it Works page.

Is IDENTILOCK™ a Smart Gun?

IDENTILOCK™ is not a Smart Gun! IDENTILOCK™ is a biometric trigger lock that does not alter, modify or tamper with firearm mechanics at all.

What is TOUCHKEY Fingerprint Technology?

Owning a firearm is a responsibility. Everyone should secure their firearm to help protect against unauthorized use. Your fingerprint is one of the best keys in the world. With just a touch of your device’s button, the TOUCHKEY sensor quickly reads your fingerprint and automatically unlocks your gun. TOUCHKEY can read multiple fingerprints, and it can read fingerprints in 360-degrees of orientation. It then creates a mathematical representation of your fingerprint and compares this to your enrolled fingerprint data to identify a match and unlock your gun. It does this all in under a second.

How do you attach IDENTILOCK™ to a gun?

IDENTILOCK™ is reliable and simple to use. It’s a clamp that completely covers your trigger guard, preventing unauthorized access. Here’s a video of our prototype in action: https://youtu.be/vdK7JgC7pyo

Which guns does IDENTILOCK™ fit?

IDENTILOCK™ works with many popular gun models initially. Adapters for additional firearms are being added all the time.

How many fingerprints can be added?

IDENTILOCK™ can store up to 3 unique fingerprints at one time.

How long does the battery last?

A rechargeable lithium-ion battery provides up to six months of active standby. IDENTILOCK™ is recharged via a standard microUSB (not included).

What happens if the battery dies?

IDENTILOCK™ provides a unique key with each product that can be used to open the device in case of a dead battery.

Can I use different adapters with the same IDENTILOCK™ unit?

Yes, you can easily change the adapters. Here’s a quick video to demonstrate: https://youtu.be/QrfSW3dvNkY
